The Annual General Assembly (AGA) of Iran Basketball federation was held at Iran Olympic Academy.

Iran Basketball Federation; Tehran: The IRIBF AGA was held online and it was chaired by Dr. Mehdi Alinezhad, Deputy Minister of High-Performance Sports Development of the Ministry of Sports and Youth.
Dr. Ramin Tabatabai, NF President, Dr. Kaykavos Saeidi, NOC Secretary General, Dr. Shabnam Kolahi, NF Secretary-General and Dr. Farideh Shojaei, NF Vice President were the major Assembly members along with coaches, referees and other participants.

The meeting began with by a clip of basketball performance in 2018 and then, Ms. Kolahi, NF Secretary-General and Assembly Secretary recalled the agenda and reported the highlights.
Dr. Tabatabaei, the NF President continued the session by focusing on the performance, the future plan and the roadmap designed for the betterment and development of the federation.
The auditor of the federation then presented the annual report, which was approved by the assembly members. The reports of the inspector and treasurer were also read and the Operational Plan was submitted to the Board of Directors for further review and approval by maximum votes of the members.

During the meeting, Deputy Minister of High-Performance Sports Development of the Ministry of Sports and Youth highlighted the positive and efficient activities of the federation and held: “basketball experiences a progress. Winning the Olympic quota after 12 years and being in second place in the Asian Games confirm the progress. Fortunately, good results have been achieved in the girls’ basic and 3X3 areas. For the first time after revolution, 2 ball games are competing in the Olympic Games at the same time. It is hoped that the females 3X3 can secure the Olympic berth, as well”.

Pointing out the high potential of the NF in having experts in different parts of the country, Dr. Alinezhad, the Assembly Chair also added: “Talent identification is one of the pillars of proper planning, which fortunately Dr. Tabatabai has taken good measures with his experience in this field. In the evaluation of the federations that was done some time ago, basketball achieved a very good score. Fortunately, families welcome basketball and have a great desire to work in. The National Olympic Committee and the Ministry of Sports and Youth will continue to support basketball as in the past, as we are on the verge of critical Olympic competitions”.

By the end of the assembly, members discussed the current issues and question were answered by the officials.

“Secretary-General Appointment Letter” was awarded to Dr. Kolahi by Dr. Mehdi Alinezhad, Deputy Minister of High-Performance Sports Development of the Ministry of Sports and Youth.
